It was a rare occasion. Carlotta had been sent to the human world. That in and of itself wasn't weird. What was weird was the fact she was sent out with someone not of her squad. A Kamiko Kago, of the 7th division. An odd choice to send with the newly appointed Lieutenant of the 2nd division, Carlotta Alflatt. But, she couldn't say no as it was a direct order.

They had been sent out with a specific mission. There had been minor hollow popping up everywhere, and, Carlotta being an expert on taking out Hollow, had been deemed a worthy teacher for the younger shinigami. Originally Carlotta had been upset. Why should she have to teach a shinigami the basic duty of their job? If they didn't know how to kill a hollow after they graduated from the academy, why stay a shinigami?

However, that changed when she had seen the young girl. She wasn't much older than Carlotta was, at least in appearance age. In actuality, Carlotta was about a hundred years older. Her blonde hair was held in pigtails, much liked Carlotta's was now due to the way she liked her gigai look. She was about 2 inches taller than Carlotta, which wasn't that big of a deal since Carlotta's heels evened them out.

So, here they were. In Tokyo, Japan. Carlotta hated coming here. It was such a big city, so many people, and they all treated her like a child, which wasn't hard to do considering she had the appearance of a 13 year old girl. They had been roaming around the city for 3 hours, taking out any hollow that they saw. Carlotta was enjoying herself. It had been a long time since she was able to let loose like this. If she wasn't in her gigai, one would have seen the nearly destroyed state of her Shihakusho. It was nearly ripped to shreds. But she didn't care. She couldn't feel the pain, what with her own zanpakuto constantly shooting pain throughout her body on a 24 hour basis. However, he had been so kind today to completely numb her pain receptors. She looked to her left, where her...partner...for the day walked with her, and opened her mouth to speak.

"So, how are you enjoying your lesson for today?"

Her voice held a slight French accent, something nobody knew why, but they just went along with it.

"I know I'm not the best teacher, and I'm sure there were better choices, but you were stuck with me. You are free to request to head back at any time."

At first, Kamiko Kago had found it strange that she would be going on a mission with another squad's lieutenant. She didn't really care who she was paired with. She felt like she could take on any opponent. Of course, she knew that this wasn't true. There were several people in the Soul Society alone who could easily end her life without a thought and without a doubt there were hollows that could do the same. Nonetheless, her confidence was unshakable and she was out for blood. She was surprised when she met the lieutenant face to face. She didn't look any older than her yet she was only one degree of separation away from being a Captain. The idea that this girl presented was exhilarating. They had been fighting all day. While Kamiko had slain her share of monsters, Carlotta was like a woman possessed in battle. She would come out of battle with her robes in tatters like a primal warrior. Kamiko herself relied more so on Kido and was greatly impressed by the other girl's tremendous speed and power. While Carlotta's choice of gigai clothing was more inconspicuous, Kamiko was fully dressed in lolita fashion. All of it in purple, her favorite color.

"So, how are you enjoying your lesson for today?"

Kamiko giggled with a hand over her mouth.

"Not as much as you are!"

She was still in awe of the other girl's competence which seemed to belie her apparent age

"I know I'm not the best teacher, and I'm sure there were better choices, but you were stuck with me. You are free to request to head back at any time."

"That's nonsense! You're really awesome. I want to keep on fighting Lieutenant Alflatt!"

Kamiko had wagged her finger in protest to the blue haired girl's self-deprecatory claim.

Lazarus was walking about town as he usually did, although it wasn't usual for young men to hop from buildings so casually. Another thing would be that he had a zanpakuto resting on his right hip. He was jumping from roof to roof with no effort what so ever, hearing the sound of hollows in the area die at the hand of some shinigami. Usually he would hide from the shinigami that patrolled, but as he felt for them he could feel they weren't captain level. With that though in mind, he decided to follow them for some time, keeping several blocks away.

He made no efforts to hide himself from them, and being a man without worries, he even flared it after some time. Boredom and curiosity were he main factors that caused him to do such a thing, testing the two to see if what level of power they might be at.

Carlotta smiled as the younger shinigami praised her. Carlotta must have been a better teacher than she thought. However, she scowled a little as she was called by her rank. She hated the formality of it. So she would turn to the younger girl and shake her head a little.

"No, no, no. Don't call me 'Lieutenant Alflatt'. Just call me Carlotta, or any variation of the name you see fit. You don't hear me calling you '7th seat Kago' do you?"

She huffed at the girl as she lectured her. It was one of the rare times she felt the need to lecture someone other than the drunken idiot that was her captain. It was then that she felt the flare of reiatsu. While reiatsu detection wasn't her strong point, even she was able to tell that this being was of captain level. Odd seeing as there weren't supposed to be any captains in the area.

"Hold on."

She would attempt to silence any response that Kamiko would make with those two little words. She hoped that she had been able to detect the reiatsu flare. While Carlotta had been able to detect it, she couldn't pinpoint a location. So instead, she flared her own, which in turn forced her out of her gigai.

She now stood in the tattered remains of her shihakusho, her zanpakuto sheathed against her lower back at a horizontal angle. All that was left of her current uniform was enough of the top to cover her budding breasts, and enough of the skirt to keep her modesty in check. However, her entire stomach, her arms, her legs, and most of her back were clearly visible, including the multitude of scars she had, and some new scratches from Hollows that would more than likely become scars.

She didn't let the older girl's scolding dampen her mood. Before Kamiko could respond Carlotta, she had felt a large spike of reiryoku flare and before she could alert the lieutenant, she seemed to have already noticed. This was beyond their power, she could feel it. Would they fight or would they fly? Assuming this wasn't another shinigami, that is. She couldn't quite tell what it was. As she looked over to Carlotta, who had already shrugged off her gigai, she followed suit with a piece of soul candy. With her body now evacuated from her gigai, she turned to the direction she had sensed the reiatsu coming from.

Lazarus hopped onto the closest roof to them without actually standing next to them, his golden eyes scanning over the two. He was in clear sight, and the spike he felt from the blue haired one made a smile cross his face.
'They want to play~' He ignored the monster in his head, waving to them with his smile holding. He wasn't sure how they'd react to a shinigami, or what thy would assume to be a shinigami, seen in human clothing. If they figured out he wasn't a part of the Gotei anymore, things might get dangerous.
"Howdy, fancy meeting the two of you here. Something you might need help with, or are you just out and about?" The hand that wasn't waving was carelessly at his side, no hostility shown so far. The only thing he was curious about was whether or not they were old enough to have seen or heard about him. His hair and eyes were enough of a description for most, but he had changed his clothing si he might be alright.

Carlotta glared at the newcomer. She didn't recognize him, nor did she see any indication that he was a shinigami or an arrancar, other than the zanpakuto on his right hip. She had heard stories of shinigami going rogue, but those stories usually ended with the 2nd division hunting them down and...getting rid of...the problem. Though she didn't sense any hostile intent in his words, as a member of the 2nd division, and a prospective member of the 11th, she knew not to trust words, and rather action.

"We are here under orders of the 2nd division. Some minor hollows had been popping up so we were sent out to take care of them."

She only spoke half the truth. She didn't want this newcomer to know that her partner in this round was a newbie.

She had gathered that he was a shinigami and yet she didn't recognize him. She would surely know about someone of his power. He wasn't wearing a shihakusho either. Maybe he was a rogue. Maybe he was the reason for increased hollow activity. Maybe he was why they were sent down here in the first place. Carlotta was a member of the Second Division after all. It all made sense to Kamiko. Still, she wasn't sure that they could make up for the gap in power but if that was what they were sent for, she believed they were capable of taking him down. Still, the lieutenant's hesitance fueled her own. He didn't seem to want to fight, but he didn't seem to belong either despite how casually he greeted them. As Carlotta answered for the duo, she juggled with the idea of getting down to business and confronting him about his business here or his affiliation with the Seireitei, she ultimately decided not to. Still, she was ready to attack at a moment's notice. Her right hand was raised over her chest to grab her zanpakuto from behind her, her left hand was in front of that hand ready to cast a kido and her body was slightly leaned forwards to flash step towards or more likely away from the much stronger spirit.

Lazarus was watching everything from their breathing to the emotion in their eyes. Every action taken into a mental folder for the both of them. His smile held, no sign of falter nor flaw in it's presence as he let his hand rest against his hip. He could tell they were both careful to assess him,but from the current situation they didn't know who he was. This gave him cause to relax just a fraction more, his reputation hiding for another day. His other arm came to rest on the sheathe of his zanpakuto, more of an arm rest than anything else at the moment.
"I do apologize, that might be my fault. Without anything to restrain my reiatsu, they sort of just flock to try and eat me. I've been on the move all night to keep out of their clutches."

This wasn't entirely true, well the only part that was true was that he had been avoiding the hollows. He wasn't the cause of them, and it wouldn't even take the drawing of his zanpakuto to slay the beasts. Lazarus just didn't want to dirty his clothing and waste energy on such lowly opponents, mostly just laziness. There was something in his eyes, just behind the happy calm atmosphere, that shifted. Something that ached for them two to strike at him, to start a battle, blood and gore running rampant in his mind.
'Come on, lemme slice em up a lil, just a lil come on!' The inverted version of him hissed as he watched the two, begging for a chance at them. For now he would have to wait, and Lazarus really didn't care for gore.

She smirked at the man as he spoke. She could see why the hollow would flock to him, even she could sense his immense reiatsu. However, she did notice something that didn't feel right in his reiatsu, but she chose to ignore it. Reiatsu signatures wasn't her strongest point anyways so she was probably just imagining things.

"Oh really? Well then I'm sure someone of your caliber could handle them."

She crossed her arms over her somewhat exposed chest. She also turned her head to Kamiko and shook her head, signaling for her to stand down. This would be one of the only times Carlotta would pull her rank, as she hated to do that. But she could see that even with the both of them, this man would be able to kill them without even blinking.

Kamiko wasn't sure if she believed him. He still didn't seem to want to fight, but at the same time, his hand began to rest just within reach of his own zanpakuto. Also, Kamiko didn't know what it was about him, but he felt sinister. She would have tensed up even more if not for her superior's gesture. Reluctantly and with a bit of frustration painted on her face by her furrowed brow and slight pout, she relaxed a bit. Now she stood up straight and her arms were at her sides. The scowl on her face remained as she stared the mysterious man down. She didn't want to show weakness no matter what. Part of the reason was because at this reason, she felt almost superfluous. She was itching to get involved in some way.

The sign that the blonde stopped at the others actions meant she was probably of a lower rank, that or a very obedient friend. Lazarus considered the latter, walking just a bit closer to the two of them. His left hand reached into his pocket very slowly, his smile widening as he pulled free his hand. From his pocket he would reveal three small wrapped candies. they rested between his fingers, and as he plucked one from between his index and middle, he would hold his hand out for the two of them to take one. To show they that it was a simple treat, Lazarus unwrapped his with one hand, popping the candy into his mouth with a click of the tongue.
"Vanilla flavored, I've got several other flavors if either of you don't fancy this one."

Lazarus always carried candy, his sweet tooth rivaled by none he had ever seen. It was visible that he was rolling the candy in his mouth, tasting it. Opening his mouth, he'd show it between his teeth, as a sign that he had actually ingested the outer coating of the candy before closing his mouth. It wasn't every day he got to come across shinigami who didn't attack him on sight, and getting close enough to hand candy to them was even rarer.

Carlotta smiled at the man. He had offered them candy, one of Carlotta's many weaknesses. However, she would force herself to reject it and instead raise an eyebrow. She wanted to know who this man was and why he was here, and if he was a shinigami, why he wasn't wearing a shihakusho. He obviously wasn't in a gigai as his zanpakuto was clearly visible.

"Who are you?"

Kamiko had tensed up as he approached. Her heart was practically beating its way out of her chest. Her hesitation began to melt away once he had brought out candy. Vanilla was one of her favorite flavors along with strawberry. As the man plucked a piece out of his hand, she had done the same. She briefly glanced over to Carlotta and saw that she had not taken a piece. Maybe she didn't like candy? She knew it was much more likely that she was being cautious. That was the only thing keeping her from popping the candy in her mouth already. She really wanted this to be a simple innocuous gesture, but she couldn't be sure.

"Who are you?"

"Yeah."

She was still fiddling with the candy with one hand as the wrapper became more loose. She was really curious about this man now.

Clicking his tongue at the question, Lazarus put the single candy back into his pocket, eyeing the two for a moment. His friendly smile fell into a slightly upturned corner of the mouth, sighing through his nose as he spoke.
"I usually don't give introductions to people I don't know, I believe it's more professional if you introduce yourself first but..." The sound of a loud cracking could be heard as he bit through the hard candy, his once bright open eyes now half lidded. With a slight bow to the both of them, he let his German accent flow freely.
"I am Lazarus Jeager, it is a pleasure to meet the two of you." That would be the only information he dared give to either of them while outside of combat, running a hand through his hair as he straightened out.

She smiled at the man as he introduced himself. She would introduce herself in a similar fashion, just using her own flare by drawing her blade and holding it vertical to the ground.

"My name is Carlotta Alflatt. Lieutenant of the 2nd division."

After her introduction, she would sheath her blade. She continued to stare at this man. She had no clue who he was or why he was here, nor would she trust an answer he gave her.

His demeanor seemed to have changed. His attitude was still casual but more relaxed. She still felt like he wasn't showing his true colors. Kamiko couldn't help but giggle at Carlotta's showy introduction.

"I'm Kamiko Kago. What are you doing here, anyway?"

Her tone was a mix of criticism and honest curiosity. She was still slightly irritated that they were just talking.

Lazarus simply smiled to the one named Kago, his eyes closing as he spoke.
"Well the feeling of two shinigami was interesting, so I decided to take a look see as to what might be going on is all." His eyes opened slowly, staring the young one down.
'They're gonna figure it out, come on and kill em before they do! It'd be fun, come on live a little!' He was holding back information, and he could tell that Kago wasn't a fan of him. He pointed to the candy she held, raising a brow.
"If you won't eat it I will."

Carlotta glared at the man. He had the audacity to look down upon them. Physically, she didn't mind that as both her and Kamiko were fairly short, but it was the way he spoke to them. Like he was somehow better than they were. Granted, he was. Carlotta could sense that a mile away. But something was different about this man, and that...something...kept Carlotta on her toes.

"We are 'interesting' you say? Well, perhaps you could take over eliminating what little hollow remain."

She looked up and could see that the sun was setting off in the western horizon. Their mission was over. They were free to return to the Soul Society now. She would look this man over one last time and give him a polite nod of her head.

"It was...nice...meeting you Lazy."

She had decided to give him the nickname Lazy as his name was hard to pronounce.

"But we need to be leaving now. I wish you a good day."

With that, she would turn around to her partner and give her a nod before flash stepping onto an adjacent rooftop in the blink of an eye.

It seemed that he was just as curious as she was. That's what she gathered from his answer at least. He seemed genuine in his emotion and she decided that he was interesting too. Maybe she had misjudged him. Maybe whatever she was feeling in his reiatsu was just in her imagination. A sweet tooth was another thing they seemed to have in common. She reluctantly gave him the piece of candy in the slightly disturbed wrapper. "Alright." She probably wasn't going to eat it, but without coming to the conclusion on her own, she felt like she was being forced to do so. While she still hadn't decided how she felt about him, Carlotta seemed to have a much more concrete position on the subject.

As Carlotta announced that they were leaving, she felt both relief and disappointment. It had been a long day and she was tired. Additionally, they avoided starting a fight with such a strong opponent. At the same time, she wasn't done having fun yet. She could still fight a couple of rounds. Maybe they would have fought against him and lived to tell the tale. Also, she had really enjoyed her day with Carlotta and for all she knew, they might never meet again. Still, there wasn't anything she could do about it.

"Bye, Lazzy."

She waved at him before making her own departure with enhanced speed at the signal of her partner. In her case, she wasn't using an easier nickname, but had forgotten his name and assumed that was his name. She wasn't sure about many things about him, but she was sure that she wouldn't forget about someone like him.

The signs of a frown formed on his lips as the two started to leave, and the inner monster within him was raging about the fact that they were leaving alive. He thought for a moment, unwrapping the candy she had returned to him. Placing it against his lips, he froze for a moment before a grin formed on his lips. As he devoured the candy, he would click his tongue, spiking his reiatsu in the process. It was a short spike, but one to make their attention fall back on him for the time being. His grins was growing wider by the second, eyes dancing with devilish intent.
"Come now, I wanted to see two shinigami. It's not my job to kill hollows, then again I haven't been completely honest so there's no reason for either of you to trust me."

'If you do this there is no going back, you know that don't you!' The inner hollow was ready for a fight, but it knew that giving them an idea of what he was could be dangerous.
"Let's have a bit of fun before you two go back to Soul Society huh? It's not like I can come with you, so let's enjoy our time together..." He punctuated his offer with another spike of his reiatsu, this time letting more of the hollow power slip in with it. He also punctuated it with the sound of his hand clasping the hilt of his zanpakuto. He hadn't yet filled his curiousity for the two before him, and this was the only thing he could think of to make either of them consider staying.
"Just a bit of fun you know, nothing to serious~"

Standing on the rooftop adjacent to where they just were with their new...friend...Carlotta heard him issue a challenge, as well as flare his reiatsu. She turned around just in time to see his hand rest on the hilt of his zanpaktuo. This was the point where Carlotta threw all reason out of her mind. She slowly drew her zanpakuto out of it's sheath. She could feel that Shikko was smiling. He was craving battle, and blood, and he just might get it with this fight.

"So, first you offer us candy, and now you want to fight us? You know, if any of us were humans, I think there's a law against that."

She flash stepped back over to the rooftop that Lazarus stood on, her blade in her hand. She wasn't going to make the first move, despite how much she wanted to.

He had caught her attention. If there were other spiritually aware beings in the vicinity, she was sure that he had caught their attention as well. His face had an unnerving smile plastered onto it. She had a feeling that they had two different ideas of fun and she had even lost her nerve to fight. That was what he was talking about after all, his grasp on his Zanpakuto made it clear. It was his reiatsu that had taken her aback. Suddenly, it felt like a hollow's. Only partially, yet unmistakable. The very idea was wrong to her. By now, the lieutenant had already joined the fray. She must have felt it too. Kamiko wanted to join the fray but she was apprehensive in spite of her previous fervor. Besides, she was more of a long range fighter anyway. Regardless of her hesitation or the obvious power gap between them, she was still determined to make an impact in this fight. One of her hands was held across her body in preparation to strike from afar.

The smile only grew as the two of them turned to see what had just happened, the grip on the hilt tightening ever so slightly. There was no move to draw his blade, just simply unsheathing an inch of it from its home. It was simple enough to know that the one further away was a long ranged fighter, but the one in front of him was stronger.
"Now that I've got your attention..." The candy he had taken from Kago was then bitten into, the sound almost echoing around them as he crunched onto the treat.
'Yes!yesyesyesyesyes!! Come on lemme out, I wanna see some mayhem!' He didn't want to kill the girls, just play for a bit. His interactions with people at all was very spaced out, and for shinigami even less. His need to touch up on his skills was strong, but it was the need for interaction that he really desired. He would fight the two for as long as he could entertain their attention if it mean contact with another being, his smile was big for a reason, it distracts from the eyes, the windows to the soul.

Carlotta's smile grew. Kamiko had decided to stay back. That was perfect. That just meant that Carlotta would be able to go wild and not have to worry about hurting her.

Holding her weapon at a diagonal angle, she would use a small burst of her own speed to rush towards her opponent. He hadn't completely drawn his weapon, which is why Carlotta was going to take advantage of that.

"Caught your attention? How nice. It seems that you have caught both my attention, as well as my partner's."

She was referring to her blade at this point, as she had pushed the much weaker Kamiko out of her mind. She would only get in the way if Carlotta started to worry about a little bug like her.
