Finally, it was time. To settle who was master the of this relationship. Aoi Hirae of the 9th division was ready. Her hair was tied neatly into ponytail then raised into a semi bun. Her clothing consisted of her Shinigami gear, the Gi and Hakama with of course her shirt being white. Entry to world had been simple, meditation. Now she was here in a scorched plane, the skies splashed with a shade of red and orange. The place was constantly plagued by what looked like a sunset but was in fact from the soul heat from the place. Embrace the fire Aoi's resolution was strong. The field of battle was relatively open, with a few rocky pillars every dozen meters, the terrain itself bumpy here and there. Her left hand held the great sword Ryuujin Jakka, currently in an unhidden form. The handle accommodated 3 to 4 of her hands, the blade itself extending quiet the length. This might very well be one of the biggest challenges of her life.

"Hajime Ryuujin Jakka"
There he was, right in front of her. The length of 10 meters separating the two. Soon the field of battle would erupt into a blazing inferno, such was the way of Ryujin Jakka, said to be the oldest and most destructive Zanpakuto.

Ryuujin Jakka had been standing there for quite some time before the Shinigami managed to locate him. The blade known as Ryuujin Jakka was quick to anger and often times had a personality to match it's nature, with his blazing disposition and all. The blade has chosen to take the form of a traditional Chinese swordsman from a period long past. He wore the simple guard of a warrior, with the only exception being the large sword known as Ryuujin Jakka along his back. The sword would not say much to the Shinigami before springing into action. With a single move, the blade would appear just slightly in front of the Shinigami coming in with a kick towards the Captain's skull from the right side. " You fail to realize who you are dealing with child....I am the one orders you when to begin..do you understand?"

Left leg slide back, lower position. It was the position she chose, she moved to dodge and not to block. As her body lowered its centre of gravity and subsequently her relative height the kick would whip past above her head. Ryuujin Jakka, it would be a joke if the destructive power of the blade came with a flower like personality. No, this blade was of few words letting actions speak its mind and the blade settle its disputes. The Kick altogether was ferocious one that would have knocked Hirae-Taicho a few yards down the line.

However today was not the day. Aoi came resolute. Today she came to win over Ryuujin Jakka. The Zanpakuto spirit would be bested such was Aoi's resolution. He would find a mountain that he would never be able to burn down to ashes. With the blade's left leg hovering passing over her head Aoi would time it perfectly, quick drawing the blade in her left hand, the right hand guiding the actual blade by the hilt. The slash was horizontal and simple, albeit fast and deadly. It would target the Pivot leg of Ryuujin, the only leg Ryuujin currently stood on. Precision at hand the exact location of such a deep slash would be located upon the thigh. The height of the attack was intentional, both a mechanical cut to heavily maim the Zanpakuto as well as to take into account of a backward and upward movement.

"Sumimase Ryuujin Jakka, but it looks like you began the fight as I have ordered."
With such a resolution called for the appropriate attitude. By blade by mind by mouth she would not let Ryuujin Jakka, god King of Fire and destruction one up her. Aoi was a master swordsman as well as Ryuujin Jakka, the clash of blades alone would be a fight of a millennium. The attack came as fast as Ryuujin's had, some would say that Aoi's movement were in Snyc with Ryuujin, timed to perfection. But all had surprises and a few aces on hand.

The blade simply followed through with it's sweeping kick motion, entering a spin off to the side, landing in a single handed push up stance. He had easily avoided the blade strike and simply shook his head at the young woman. " You are not that bright I see..you attack me with me?...Do you not see the stupidity in your logic or are you that dense?" The blade lunged forward and back to being upright in a single sweeping motion. Ryuujin Jakka was not impressed with the girl and never had been, to him, she would be nothing more then a conduit to which he could reduce all things to ash, and both his personality and dynamic with the girl would display this. " You are like a cat against a tiger when facing me...know your place domesticated feline..or I shall remind you of it..."

Ryuujin Jakka would simple stare down the girl. She was being defensive which annoyed the blade immensely. To Ryuujin Jakka, defensiveness was a mark of weakness for the best defense possible is always a good offense, or so the blade thought. She a moment before had attempted to mock the blade yet was met with nothing more then condescending retort. Ryuujin Jakka was powerful indeed and if it wished, it could reduce her to ash in the blink of an eye. The girl would soon discover how outclassed she was once the blade had begun to take her truly serious yet for now, the blade would simply play with it's food for a few moments. " You lack even the most finite of hand to hand skills you ignorant sow...you will never hurt me with me you pathetic bitch..."

Ryuujin Jakka would follow quickly at Aoi's command, setting its bladed edge under its mirror and manifestation. A dodge was expected, though the act was a counter-attack, executed with both speed and precision, Aoi, the wielder of Ryuujin Jakka, would have been greatly disappointed if it could not dodge an attack. With that in mind Aoi had reserved the full extent of her footwork. Now she used moved once again, oddly like a free body of water or air. Once again she was in front of the 'blade' whom was quick to insults but as of now would not have the leisure of doing such. He would not be able to voice his disappointment or possibly face a permanent scar upon its helm. Her two feet were sturdy, supporting both her weight and the swing of her blade.

The manifestation of Ryuujin Jakka that was the Chinese Warrior would not set the tempo for the beginnings of the fight. Silent, deadly and precision that came from many years. With the right hand leading and the left hand following, the two hands would strike the airborne being. The blade would first strike the back of the head. The distance had not been too great from the start, having closed the gap as it span horizontally. Her keen eyes kept track of the blade's manifestation that would now face up in it's spintop like motion. No footing and no ability to change its motion, Aoi need not have disabled the Mirror'd blade. However that may very well not be enough Aoi had thought. The leading right hand rising as the speed of the blade changed. If the spinning blade had caught site of the blade and timed a block he would find that the blade had infact sped up considerably and would strike him earlier.

Ryuujin Jakka watched the Shinigami's sloppy blade movements. She had great skill with the blade but lacked the arm strength required to effectively use them. Ryuujin Jakka, using it's immense muscular control, simply arched it's back as the slash came in, the tsuba of the blade glistening as it glided by the blade's chest. The blade continued it's movement, using the momentum from the slash to leap backwards in a single flip, creating a few extra feet away from the Shinigami and himself. " Do not act as if you are deaf Shinigami....because as you are now you will not even have the strength to summon me in Shikai form..." The blade simply smiled at the girl. The blade was in complete control in this instance, and it knew it. Having watched the girl's attempts to defeat it fail so miserably, the blade could only laugh to itself.

" You must control my central line...." The blade would rip it's sleeves off revealing a set of iron rings along each of his wrists. Lashing his arms forward caused the rings to clang together at the point where the palm meets the wrist. I will not even use my sword against you to show you that you rely too heavily on me..." The blade's words were not full of bravado or ignorance, it had a full working knowledge of the Shinigami's skills to which the blade intended to test. In a single graceful sweeping motion, the blade closed the distance between the two, bringing his right arm down towards the shinigami's skull in a Guillotine style motion. His left arm would be ready to intercept any counter offensive attempt at a moments notice.

Why was she not surprised, Ryuujin Jakka's bulky appearance was misleading. He was in fact very agile almost like a graceful ballerina. A ballerina in a hulking set of armour. The trick was to stay level, to not be intimidated but at the same time never to fool yourself. You had to be aware of your limits, to capitalize on your strengths and to exploit the weaknesses of your opponent. A weaknesses could have been anything, even confidence or becoming a creature of habit.

Though Aoi had not landed a single hit, the fight was going as Aoi wanted it to. Ryuujin Jakka, ripped the sleeves of his Clothes off, revealing a set of rings on both arms. Ryuujin was a creature of habit, Aoi knew, afterall Ryuujin was a part of Aoi as Aoi was a part of Ryuujin. He portrayed both her and another side of her. Two sides to the coin. This particular side enjoyed the display of power and control through chaos and mayhem. It was ironic really.

The rings were bashed against one another, ringing a death toll for one of the two. Now the offensive was onto Ryuujin, dropping in fast to crush her tiny head. My my, absolutely no manners and that to a little girl. Such heavy rings, the drop on her head was fast, the weight of the rings aiding the descent of the execution. A direct clash would be impossible nor was it the style that Aoi preferred. Having failed her upward slash she had let it reside in her right hand with the blade pointing downward and towards her left. It was her light body weight and footwork that would help her back away. She could hear the dull whoosh of the weights pass her face around half a meter away.

That was an opening she was looking for, Shunpo, a fast speed movement that landed Aoi on the rear right side of Ryuujin Jakka. No matter how strong one was, the 8 rings required a shift in balance. The full body would have gone into the guillotine chop and a change in direction would take and a lot of effort. The semi loose rings were heavy and carried their own separate momentum. The fact that they were semi loose would be a downfall. Though they helped absorb and disperse damage it meant changing directions would mean even more work.

She was behind him now, towards his right. His left was away from her. The right hand would act, a single hand slash, low and deep. She targeted the exposed Right thing. A deep cut intended to slow him down. It was quiet not yet, there was still something that needed to be done before Aoi could truly start.

Ryuujin Jakka was not like most people this Shinigami encountered, he was for more skilled then he would let on. His chop had come down fast and hard however, the blade followed the Shinigami's movements perfectly, and upon the Captain dodging his strike, he simply stopped his striking motion and turned his right arm to parry the striking the blade. The rings were heavy but not so heavy as the restrict his movements in any way shape or form, that is why she was unable to tell he was wearing them before he removed his sleeves. Having parried her attack, the blade would continue to strike towards the Shinigami leading with it's iron rings. These strikes would come from above so as to allow the blade's attacks to strike properly. The blade was growing bored with the Shinigami, to Ryuujin Jakka she was fighting like a scared child, making failed attempts to strike the blade she knew deep down wouldn't work.

" At the rate your going you won't be seen as an equal...." The blade shook it's head at her physically showing her it's discontent.

Perhaps it was time or should she bide more time. It was a choice she had to make, Ryuujin himself seemed set that Aoi was not worthy or incompetent. It was true she lacked a skill in hand to hand combat but it did not mean her physical strength fell short or lacked. Perhaps she fell short to those who dedicated many hours in hand to hand combat in terms of strength but Aoi as a captain did not shy in strength to any plebeian Shinigami. This was perhaps the correct time to act.

Before her blade had parried Aoi had made a decision. A decision that would lead to two actions. The left hand now free from any commitments, would point at the ringed blade, casting a kido to land first. "bakudo no 61, Rikujoukourou" However her first call would be to aide her blade, calling upon it to wake from its slumber. "banshō issai kaijin to nase." True it's nature it would burn all creations to ashes.

The blade and rings would collide, an overwhelming amount fire of erupting with its wake. The blast of fire, mimicing the slice of the blade would instantly dwarf both Aoi and the manifestation of Ryuujin, melting away the solid metal rings.

Ryuujin Jakka was impressed by the girls resolve, as the solid metal rings liquefied into nothing. Her looked her in the eyes for a moment and could see the resolve she held so strongly. Seeing his released form in the hands of the girl allowed the blade to feel nostalgia. It had been several years since she had first earned the right to use that name and Ryuujin could tell she was more then capable of applying it's fire to the situation at hand. Not wanting to simply melt the rings, the Shinigami would use a kido as well to try and restrict the blade's movements. Upon the rings being met with the Shikai, the blade decided it was time to step things up a bit.

As the blast collided, it's fire was immediately dwarfed by the blade's own attack. " Bankai...Zanka no Tachi..." The blade was no in bankai and an immense heat had begun to melt everything away. " .Zanka no Tachi, Minami: Kaka Jūmanokushi Daisōjin!!!!" Stabbing the blade into the ground, the ground would rip open as the massive legions of the those who fell before the blade had begun to make their way towards the Shinigami. " You are a worthy opponent I see...let me step this up a bit..."
